Archive for September, 2012

My goal is always to have the previous weekend’s SDE(s) up on our blog by Tuesday. They wait until Tuesday because I take time off on Sunday to be with my wife and kids. I also normally take Monday off to be on Daddy-duty all day with my 4 month old daughter and 3 year old boy while my wife is at work. Which means on Monday I am lucky if I can answer the phone or do emails. So here it is Tuesday and I am getting a lot done, including this post and my previous post for last week.

I’ll start with Trang and Iggy who got married at Casa Real in Pleasanton (yes I know for those following the blog we are heavy Casa Real this year, but we love that place!). We did our Photo & Video Fusion product for Trang, but shortly before her big day she decided that she also wanted a SDE. Our other team had already contracted for the SDE and I found myself short an editor as my usual second was unavailable. So Trang took it upon herself to find an editor and located Tri Luu. I think the edit turned out great and so did they. It’s not our usual style or flow, but that is to be expected from someone who is not a part of our Lumitone team. Enjoy the guest edit SDE…

Our other team was at the wedding of Ngoc & John who had a very traditional wedding along with the tea ceremonies and family gatherings that occurred in the afternoon. They started off the day with door games at Hotel Valencia in San Jose. We then went out for a morning photo session at Hakone Gardens where we were able to get lots of really great shots and they had a good time. We concluded the day at ABC seafood in Milpitas and the SDE got a huge reaction from the crowd. Enjoy the SDE…

We are so busy right now with all the weddings, editing, client meetings and phone calls that my postings are late again this week and my emails are running 1-2 days late as well. Seriously if anyone one knows someone that needs an internship in the photo/video world send them my way.

For now we’re going back to September 7th, for Trang & Bryan’s wedding at Casa Real in Pleasanton. They had Nicole Ha providing flowers and decorating, so the place looked fabulous. We shot with Gene Higa from So Cal and he did a great job. These guys were super easy to work with, but the expectations were very high from the groom because we were his idea. In the end he was very impressed and everyone was happy. Enjoy the SDE…

Our second SDE is from September 8th for Mylinh & Nate who got married in San Francisco and had their reception at the beautiful Julia Morgan Ballroom. This couple chose a really long song for their SDE, which is rare and presented a fun challenge for us. They also opted for an earlier viewing time than they had originally planned. So we rose to the challenge, worked at lightning speed and blew away the crowd. Enjoy the SDE…

…and another week behind. We had SIXTEEN weddings this past month. Add to that client meetings, editing, sleep, and let’s not forget my 3 month old girl and my just turned 3 year old boy (happy birthday buddy!) and things have been beyond busy. Hopefully I will catch up a bit this month.

We start this post with Felisa & Jeremy who had their wedding at Preservation Park in Oakland. This is a beautifully restored neighborhood from late 1800’s / early 1900’s that is run as a city park in downtown Oakland. We had a great time with this group and most were familiar faces as we had filmed the Bride’s sister’s wedding back in 2006. We did photo and video fusion for this wedding. Enjoy the SDE…

Our second wedding of the weekend was for Christine and Joseph, who had their wedding at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon. We love this property and do about 5-10 weddings there each year. This couple kept the party going well into the night and everyone had a great time. You could really tell how in love they were and much people cared for them.
